Why Get A CCH Permit?
The Philosophical Foundation:
The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.
This well-known quote from the 18th century English statesman Edmund Burke makes a solid foundation for the case for carrying a concealed handgun. We may wish it to be otherwise but we share the world with others who will do us harm if they can. If we do nothing, they will succeed. If we are ill-prepared, they will succeed.
Our Second Amendment Right:
A well regulated militia,
being necessary to the security of a free state,
the right of the people to keep and bear arms,
shall not be infringed.
The second amendment, indeed the entire constitution was written to protect the people from government and from the majority. It can be argued that the second amendment was put there so we wouldn't lose the first amendment and other rights. It can also be argued that the founding fathers expected us to be armed, considering it as being necessary to the security of a free state.
Personal Protection:
The defense of yourself and your family is your responsibility. Being trained, armed and prepared is the most effective way to protect yourself and your loved ones from violence. If a situation arises where you must protect yourself or others, the mere display of a handgun is often enough. Those who are ill-prepared and unarmed, however, become easy prey or low hanging fruit for criminals, molesters and terrorists.
When seconds count, law enforcement is just minutes away. You are the first responder.
